Biography
Biography | I am a First Nations Canadian that immigrated to the US, almost 20 years ago. I was always in healthcare, taking roles as wilderness EMT to Home Health Support Worker. When I moved to the US, got married and I had babies and that transition turned me into a SAHM. After 10 years, I became a certified Doula, remarried to my amazing husband. Needing steady income, I stumbled my way into a chaotic career of Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist. It was this choice, and the training that would lead me here! I worked in manufacturing and when accidents would happen, I would need to do an accident investigation. Finding the ‘Root Cause’. Now, back to my Canadian roots! We always did things like olive oil in the ears, we grew our own food, fished and hunted and made dandelion teas. If I wasn’t feeling well my dad would make me a “hot sips” of oregano, ginger, mint and orange/lemon (It sounds gross but it’s good). Being married to a Marine we move, at least every 3 or 4 years. It was at one of these moves when we were located in a remote area and healthcare was difficult, that I took all my training and google into becoming a keyboard warrior. I started having weird things happening to my body, turns out I was in perimenopause, but I didn’t want to take pills because I was on so many already! 11 to be exact! we fixed all of this after I found out why I was taking them and that I didn’t need them. I healed my body and got off all my meds! I am very fortunate to have a new doctor(yea we moved again) he is Chinese and willing to work with me. He has even asked me about a few of my ‘tinctures’ for his other patients. It was his suggestion that I look into this as a career choice for me, and that is how I started this weird winding road of a life path! My kids and their friends say I am ‘crunchy granola homesteading hippie’, but when one of them is sick they all ask me for oregano oil or ‘hot sips’. Which I happily give them. I have been doing this course since April of 2024, and last Sunday(6/2/2024) I was honored to be apart of another little life come into this world. |
