I came to visual art later in life after becoming very ill from debilitating migraine headaches and long hauler covid. My best friend decided I needed something to bring me out of my depression, so she brought rocks over to my house to paint. I told her I had no artistic abilities, but she insisted it wasn’t about the product but the process of doing something besides lying in bed.  Unknown to me this would be the beginning of a passion for art. Without art I am not sure I would have recovered.

Helping people like me to find a way to start or to continue their healing journey is important to me. That is why I have chosen to learn about Art Therapy. I am also a therapist for Restoring the Foundations which is a spiritual wellness program and I believe that Art therapy and RTF will would nicely together to bring freedom to people.
